At the end of each class, you should inform students that they will need to complete a sample assignment. This should give students the encouragement that they need to get started on their project.When you first start teaching your students about the project, it is best that you give them some guidelines about what type of paper they will be writing. If they were writing a paper for an English class, you might include words such as 'for', 'analysis', 'question', 'hypothesis', 'submission', 'write', 'main points', 'data', 'samples', and 'text'. These are the main key phrases that you should include in their written assignment. Remember that students will be asked to write about real life situations and thus you should use neutral language so that students can get a general idea of how to build their argument.After you explain to your students the basic idea behind the project, it is time to begin planning the project. I like to assign my students to work in groups of four so that we can get everyone together and brainstorm different topics that can be included in their sample assignment.When I ask students to brainstorm different topics, they should try to come up with different types of projects that are related to each other. For example, if you are planning to write ab out marriage, why not also write about the importance of marriage to society and culture? There are many ways that you can combine topics to make it more interesting.Most importantly, let your students know that they will need to write their essays in a specific order. After they have completed the sample assignment, you should take down the chapters, write down what they had to say, and then discuss it with them.
